As with all our Event Tours, everything is taken care of once you arrive in Phnom Penh. Our experienced crew and 4WD support vehicle carry your baggage, supplies and spare parts, leaving you free to enjoy the ride. We cover almost everything except your evening meals and cold beers—and even include accommodation on the night before and after the tour.

DAY 1: PHNOM PENH TO KEP

Coffee - breakfast - baggage loaded - rider briefing - ready to ride - Helmets on !
Leaving the outskirts of Phnom Penh behind, we soon find ourselves riding a great mixture of country roads and dirt trails as we travel south towards the coast. The scenery quickly opens into rice fields, traditional farming communities and small rural villages, giving us our first real taste of life beyond the city.
Our route takes us through the beautiful Hidden Lake valley and across a small mountain range before rolling into Kep—once known as the “City of Ghosts” because of the abandoned villas left behind following Cambodia’s years of conflict.
Today, Kep is a peaceful coastal town surrounded by mountains and overlooking the Gulf of Thailand. Our comfortable hotel features a swimming pool and views across Kep National Park and the ocean—the perfect place to finish our first day on the bikes.
DAY 2: KEP TO KAMPOT

Helmets on as we continue along Cambodia’s southern coastline, keeping an eye out for monkeys along the way.
Today offers a relaxed mixture of trails, country back roads and small river crossings. We pass through traditional beachfront fishing communities before riding the tracks and trails surrounding the Secret Lake afternoon has us on some more trails at the base of Bokor Mountain before heading up the twisty mountain pass to an old ghost casino
We arrive in Kampot . a laid-back riverside town. Check into our welcoming hotel, before we board our sunset river cruise. swim & superb bbq
DAY 3: KAMPOT TO CHI PHAT

Helmets On !
Another ripper day exploring Cambodia on 2wheels taking us across to the remote Chi Phat community, hidden deep within the Cardamom Mountains. Today’s route takes us across varied terrain, with remote trails & back roads through changing landscapes and several river crossings. Riding deeper into the mountains, towns become villages, the jungle grows thicker, experience the real meaning of riding Beyond the Map.
Our overnight stay is in bungalows at Chi Phat’s eco-tourism village, experience welcoming Cambodian life firsthand. Enjoy the evening BBQ and a chilled brews !
DAY 4: CHI PHAT TO TATAI

Today we venture deep into one of Cambodia’s wildest and most spectacular regions.
Our route follows a mixture of remote backtracks and dense jungle trails through the heart of the Cardamom Mountains. Listen carefully and you may hear gibbons calling from the treetops as we ride through a vast wilderness that is home to some of Cambodia’s rarest wildlife.
It’s a big day on the bikes, filled with adventure, incredible scenery and plenty of smiles.
By late afternoon, we reach the Tatai River near Cambodia’s western border. Our peaceful riverside eco-resort sits beneath a magnificent Cardamom Mountain backdrop. There’s time for a swim, a cold drink and a freshly prepared local meal while enjoying one of the best views of the tour.
DAY 5: TATAI TO PRAMAOY

After saying goodbye to our friendly riverside hosts, we saddle up for another adventurous crossing of the Cardamom Mountains.
The road through this region is constantly changing. Construction, weather and seasonal washouts mean no two rides are ever quite the same—and that unpredictability is all part of the adventure.
Depending on local conditions and access, we’ll speak with villagers about the best available route into the legendary Tiger Trail. This remote single-track takes us deep into lush tropical jungle and offers another memorable taste of Cambodia’s wild side.
Our afternoon arrival brings us into Pramaoy, our welcoming overnight digs is perfectly fitting ! Boots off, cold drinks open—it’s time to enjoy some local food, share stories from the day and embrace the simplicity of life in rural Cambodia.
DAY 6: PRAMAOY TO BATTAMBANG

Today we continue northwest through rural communities where traditional farming life remains unchanged for centuries .
A varied mixture of trails, backroads and river crossings leads us towards Phnom Sampeau and its historically significant Killing Caves. It is a sobering reminder of Cambodia’s past and an important part of understanding the country through which we are travelling.
As we approach Battambang, keep an eye out for the wonderfully inventive, Mad Max-style tractors, trucks and homemade vehicles built by local mechanics—often carrying loads that have to be seen to be believed.
We roll through the backstreets and into Battambang during the afternoon. Located beside the Sangkae River, the city is known for its French colonial architecture and relaxed atmosphere. Our comfortable hotel, swimming pool and nearby restaurants provide everything needed after another big day. The poolside esky is usually a popular meeting place.
DAY 7: BATTAMBANG TO SIEM REAP

There’s time to enjoy an early walk through Battambang’s laneways and local markets ! Saddle up as we ride across to Siem Reap, a popular tourist town and gateway into the largest religious monument in the world—the extraordinary Angkor temple complex. riding mix of blacktop and village trails. early afternoon has us riding through the bustling streets of downtown Siem Reap,
settling into our hotel, before climbing aboard local tuk-tuks and head out to explore the legendary Angkor Wat. It’s an unforgettable way to conclude the first stage of our Cambodian adventure.
Evenings come alive with night markets, live music and the famous Pub street. Enjoy a well-earned night out.

DAY 8: SIEM REAP TO KAMPONG THOM

Back in the saddle, we ride southeast across open plains and remote farming country.
Our route passes through traditional villages where ox carts and horse-drawn wagons are still part of everyday life. This is rural Cambodia at its most authentic—a landscape of rice fields, small communities and timeless farming traditions.
Along the way, we visit Sambor Prei Kuk, an extraordinary collection of ancient temples dating from the pre-Angkorian Chenla Kingdom. Hidden among mature subtropical forest, these remarkable ruins offer a fascinating glimpse into Cambodia’s history before Angkor.
By afternoon, we arrive in Kampong Thom and settle into our comfortable hotel in the centre of this lively provincial city.

DAY 9: KAMPONG THOM TO KAMPONG CHAM

Another great riding day lies ahead as we make our way through Cambodia’s rural heartland towards the mighty Mekong River.
We ride through vast farming landscapes and traditional communities before following trails beside one of the world’s great rivers. This region is home to many Cham communities, with traditional stilt houses lining the riverbanks and village life unfolding around us.
Our trails criss-cross the countryside before bringing us into Kampong Cham during the afternoon.
Our hotel sits beside the Mekong, providing the perfect location to watch the sunset over the river with a chilled drink in hand.
DAY 10: KAMPONG CHAM TO PHNOM PENH

It’s the final day of our Mates Rates adventure, but there is still some excellent riding ahead.
We follow the banks of the Mekong towards Phnom Penh, enjoying a final mixture of riverside tracks, sandy trails, rural villages and traditional bamboo crossings.
Gradually, the countryside gives way to the energy of the capital Phnom Penh and our welcoming hotel
After an incredible journey across Cambodia, it’s time to remove the riding boots, raise a glass and celebrate
